Anyone know what the trick is to remove the cover on the F52 fuses. I futzed with it a bit but figured I would ask as it was starting to give me a cramp in that tight space

Yes my friend, seems like it was pretty selfish from the MB designers to place these fuses buried in that hole. To remove that cover (snap on) keep on pulling and watch the position since to get it in is another pain in the rear...! perhaps they did it to give more work to the Mercedes dealer shop and increase the profits!
