Convenience Feature Of Drivers Seat Not Working - 2005 SL600
The drivers seat on my car is supposed to move backwards when exiting the vehicle to make entry/exiting easier. The car did it in the dealership showroom the day I took delivery but never again.
I understand if the seat is set far back the adjustment will not happen, same as if it is set to an extremely close to the front position it will not move either.
I experimented by setting the seat at various positions and have been unsuccessful.
I made sure in the instrument cluster that the convenience feature is set to the steering column and seat, by the way the steering column adjustment works, just not the seat. The dealer also recommended turning off the key depedency setting and the turning on the key dependency again. Each seat position I tried I stored the position into one of the memory settings, but just can't get it to work.
Going to the dealer is a last resort for me, I live in Tallahassee and my local dealer is horrible, nightmare service department, the dealer I buy my cars from and use for service is in Jacksonville, about 150+ miles away. Any ideas or suggestions from anyone would be appreciated.
