SL/R230: How to move stuck rollbar cylinder & identify fault??? roof won’t open?????

How do I move stuck rollbar cylinder & identify the fault?
The rollbar cylinder or its assembly component seems at fault. I detached the solenoid from the rollbar, pushed it down to lock onto the connector at the top of the cylinder rod, and the console switch operates the roof until I stop before the rear window interferes with the rear window shelf. (Before I attached the solenoid to the rollbar cylinder, the center console roof switch would only move the trunk lid straight up, get stuck; and would not reverse to close.)
The rollbar cylinder will not move. When I push the rollbar down center console button, the pump runs for about 5 seconds then stops as if it is confirming the rollbar is down. When I push the button up the rollbar cylinder does not move. (Before the rollbar up or down buttons would not move the cylinder.)
How do I get the cylinder to Move????? I have a used rollbar assembly. Do I switch solenoids… this seems easiest. Do I switch rollbar assemblies, just the cylinder, or the double up down limit switches? If switching component(s), does not get the cylinder to move, do I replace the cylinder with a rebuild?
