Failed EIS (ignition switch socket)

Anyone else had problems with the EIS (Electronic Ignition Switch) on the R230? Mine has a mind of its own and will sometimes work OK but then when it gets a bit cold (say 10C and lower) it refuses to recognise the key(s). I have diagnosed an occasional problem with the iCarsoft decoder but irregular. I'm told the switch is easy to remove and can be repaired but have yet to find someone in the UK to do it.
