2003 SL R230. Can i take off the armrest/lid only or do i have to take off all of it?
Sorry if this question have been asked before but..
The armrest lid/cover on my 2003 SL R230 have a broken lock/latch and i found a used armrest in the same color as the interior of my car with the lock/latch intact.
When replacing the armrest only do i still have to take off the whole armrest and compartment under the armrest cover/lid or is it possible just to take off the armrest?
Is it possible to take off the armrest/lid only? The lid that is open inside the red lines on the picture below
Or do i have to take off the whole assembly? The part shown on the picture below
It's possible, using reverse clamps to spread apart the arms but it's a bit of a hassle getting them in there. You may as well just undo it all which doesn't take much longer.

Any of my fellow forum members here that knows if the 2 bolts with locking springs (marked with red arrows on the picture) is the 2 bolts that holds the armrest/center console lid in place?
I have never taken the armrest/lid off so i might very well be wrong.
Is it the 2 bolts with locking springs all that hold the armrest/center console lid in place?
