Any Pics of Sirius Antenna

Does anyone have a picture of what the standard Sirius installation antenna looks like on the SL?

Thanks for the Link

Thanks for the link, but I am trying to find some photos of the actual dealer installation of the antenna. I never saw one and have only heard different peoples opinions of the installation.

The factory SIRUS antenna is about 1.5 inches wide, 2 inches long and problaby 2 inches high and it goes in the middle of the upper 1/3 of the trunk.

It is black and other than on a black car, it is totally unacceptable. It is very noticible and I would never put it on any other car. I did see it on a black car and it actually didn't look that bad.

Personal choice but I'd think twice about putting the factory one in.

I believe Mercedes is working on another solution so I would try the othe installations before I'd put a hole in my trunk.

I'm telling you all now, that you don't have to mount it on the trunk. I have Sirius in my Viper & C32 (soon to be E55). The Viper antenna is mounted INSIDE the car beneath the hatchback rear glass. The C32 antenna is mounted very discretely on the passenger side dash corner. I have 3+ bars at all times (besides tunnels, etc). Don't believe that you must have it on the outside of the car, it's very untrue.

Ugly Antenna

I finally saw the actual dealer installed antenna for the satelite radio, it is very ugly, even though they painted it to match the exterior body color it sure is big and unsitely on the trunk. I can't believe anyone uses that installation method. Any other type of installation attempt would have to be better than the recommended installation.

Totally agree! You can put the antenna anywhere on the inside of the car as long as it can "see" the outside (ie. dash, rear deck, etc).
