DRL/Parking Light Socket

2006 SL55A

Greetings, where would I purchase this DRL/Parking lamp (driver's side) socket/wiring for a 2006 SL55 AMG (R230). Full disclosure, the image is from a YouTube video on replacing the bulb. I was replacing mine and the wire covering stretched to reveal the core wire. May have pulled/disconnected wire from within? Thanks!!!M
G (R230)?

I'm in the same situation. Is the light not working? If it is, I would shrink wrap the wires. In my case, the light isn't coming on and I know it's a good light. I've asked a bunch of different sellers of lights and it seems the wiring only comes with the headlight assembly. I really hope someone can shed some light on this.

Comon problem. Seems MB wire insulation of this era just disintegrates with age. Most wires on my SLK (2009) headlight assembly were bare when I was changing bulbs a few years ago. Shrink wrap seems like the only solution.
Hope this is confined to the lighting assemblies!

I have two '03 parts cars that both had the right headlight busted up so the wiring is exposed. On both, the wiring is in terrible shape. It is badly cracked, but worse than that, it just crumbles when you touch it. They are not high mileage cars, one at around 60k and one at 90k. This is going to be a bigger problem as these cars get a bit more age. I would like to do a replacement harness, but with the xenon ballast, the wiring gets pretty complex and the connectors are not readily available. There are some reproduction harnesses for other models, but none for R230s, at least that I can find.

Thanks everyone for the posts. The bulb flickers, so definitely a short and throwing a code. I will try tape/shrink wrap for now. And I guess the hunt continues for this socket/assembly. Cheers!!!

In cases like this, just start by calling your local Mercedes-Benz dealership's parts department. They can get you OEM parts made for your car. Just give them your car's make, model, year, and the specific part you need

The dealer will be happy to sell you a new headlight assembly for about $1850. Internal parts are not sold separately.

I didn't say buying, I said calling
OEM parts you can be anywhere for a more reasonable price
But by calling them you can find out which part you need, and then start digging
