Removed syren, still 85mA drain

Since the battery inside the syren was shot, I expected to have found the cause of my battery drain.
But still, the last step of going to sleep is not reached.
It hangs at 85mA, not doing its last step down to 35 mA.
Could the disconnected syren, cause the anti theft system not going to sleep?

No, disconnected siren shouldn't be a problem.

Have you tried disconnecting the blue tooth dongle in the centre console (if you have one)?
That fixed my battery drain after 5 years of frustration on my 2003 SL500
