I just purchased a 2007 SL550. It has electronic trunk open/closer. when I pull the trunk release under the lip of the trunk it opens a bit and then closes again. if I hold it for a few seconds (mabe 1/4 to1/2 way open) it comes up and then continues to open. Is this normal operation? it seems a bit odd that I would have to hold the opener a few seconds before it continues to open. also the button on the door inside seems to open and close trunk just fine.

Mine used to do that sometimes too, but I never figured out what it was either. I think it did it more when the car sat for awhile and the rear battery was low and needed charging.
