Did you fix your power issues? That code is often lack of power to the shifter.

The ESM doesn't agree with you, it says low voltage. I'm not saying your opinion doesn't matter, but I'm going with the ESM on this one. The ESM uses 30z power provided by relay M. Check for battery voltage at F44 with ignition on (It is terminal 30z, so the key doesn't have to be on, but the car must be awake. With key on, it will be awake.) The source for relay M is pin 87. With the relay removed, you should have rear battery voltage at the pin 87 socket. If you do, you can jumper the socket, pin 87 to pin 30 to bypass the relay. This power is provided from F33f1, the 60A fuse in F33 (rear prefuse). Work your way back and find the problem. This is also power for relay L, which is your start relay. Once you have power on this circuit, you should get drive authorization and cranking.

I don't recall your exact year. The passenger fuse box has a couple different configurations, but I think this info should apply to all SL55's.

This sounds so technical lol I will need to look at a diagram and follow your instructions btw thanks for your help so far i appreciate it. I did try getting to the f33 fuse but the nut is in such a awkward position i don't know how to take it off. I found another code linked to what you are saying..
