SL 550 shifft problem

I have a SL550 with 67000 miles on it. Sometime it does not want to shift out of park. Most of the time it is fine. All other shifts are easy. What could be possible causes of this problem??

You have a cracked shifter lockout pawl which is (hopefully not) about to break and strand you at some inconvenient moment.

Replace with the milled aluminium type from eBay. It's a set-and-forget permanent fix.
