Trunk issues

Hello all,
First post in this forum. My wife has an 2004 SL 500, she put the top up yesterday, and threw some stuff in the trunk. Trunk release does not seem to work, nor does the Fob. Was working fine prior. I suspect its not engage properly, and will need to be opened using the key. Please let me know if there is anything else we should be looking at. With the trunk not being closed or being able to open, top won't go down.

Any signet would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Jason

Hopefully you can use the blade key in the fob to manually actuate the lock and open the trunk.

If that doesn't work, you'd have to remove the 3rd / center brake light and actuate the lock from the top.
