Tire Pressure

Yeah, real exciting topic. But an odd thing happened the other day when I brought my car in for tire rotation and tire check. When I got the car back, I asked the guy what pressure the front and rear tires were at. I know this, but I wanted to see if this guy knew what he was doing. He told me he was going off of what the car said the pressure should be. I asked him if he knew the size of the tires on my vehicle. He said yes. Then I asked him, do you know what size tire that comes stock with this car? He wasn't sure. So I told him the stock was 18 and the tires I have on the vehicle are 19 now. So, don't you think you would inflate the 19-inch tires differently than the 18-inch? The guy got angry when I told him to go back and inflate the correct pressure. So my question is this. Was I correct, or was the tire guy correct?

Thank you.
