How do I remove the housing at the fuel fill gas flap from the outside to fix water leak?
When you remove the wheel liner, there is a metal plate sealing off access to the bottom of the housing. The drain hose connection at the housing is therefore hidden. That hose drains into the wheel well several inches forward of the housing drain hole. The following video shows how to remove the vacuum actuator for the flap lock/ejector attached to the housing:
Note that I cleaned out the drain hose with compressed air. When I pour a cup of water into the housing drain hole, considerably less than a cup makes its way out the bottom of the drain hose. The remaining water leaks into the floor carpet rear of the passenger seat.
