Disassemble CV joint
I am part way through replacing the boot on rear CV joint. I have the joint a part and now need to get the ball retainer off. Do I have to press the inner race off the shaft to get the ball retainer off?
Has anyone done this? In WIS it talks about damaging the inner race when pressing it off since the inner race is staked to the shaft. Does anyone know if it is common for the inner race to be ruined when pressing it off the shaft?
