Replacing my M113 engine with a M156 anybody done it ?

Afternoon all.

Having completed the wide body build on my R230 SL500, I realized the performance of the M113 engine does not match the updates we have done on this car interior and exterior. My plan is to replace the M113 V8 engine and transmission with a M156 V8 engine and its transmission coming out of a C 63. any body done it?
Regards
Charl

It has often been argued that swapping to another type of engine is a financially unattractive thing to do. Buying 'the right car' (whatever fancies you) to begin with, is the rational option. Think about coding, smog/MOT approval, functionality of diagnostic systems, type approval.

I would start checking parts diagrams to figure out how the engine suspension works in earlier R230s compared to the R230 SL63 which had an M156 from the factory.

Also, if you want more performance, why not an M113K?

morning Frederick NL , I agree with you however the build we did was basically a free donor vehicle. I have already over capitalized on said vehicle. ( in for a penny in for a pound so to speak LOL so ye lets go full guns and complete this project) . Car is driven once in a blue moon however it just needs the power to speak to the wide body conversion.
