Check out the local MBCA club that I am in. We do cool stuff like Blind Rallies, auto-cross / defensive driving course, road rallies, visit car museums, meet once a month, and do things with other MBCA chapters.

What's a "blind" rally?

A Blind Rally is where you drive a course around the city/country with no map. You are given clues; like turn left on Dutch land road. In my case it meant Germantown Road. Another clue would be turn right on the leading charter of Green Acers, and it would be Oliver Road. In our blind rally, it saids count the number of silos and churches on the trip. You will get time for completing the course and points for the correct answers on your sheet.

On the next run of the course, you will be given a map of the course and your goal is to have both rally times as close as possible to win. Also the instrument cluster will be block from your eyes so you can not keep track on of your speed or RPMs.

The first running I understand. We call it a Continental Rally. It's basically one of several Gimmick Rallies that we do. We score based on closest to calculated distance including points won for answering questions correctly. We only use time as a tiebreaker.

I've never done a rally with the speedo blocked. With my heavy foot, I think that would be a quick way to get a ticket!

On both runs, the insrument cluster, and clocks are block. You can not even have a watch.
