THROTTLE CONNECTOR SCHEMATIC

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE AND WISH FOR A HAPPY 2025 GUYS:
My SL-500 hesitates on acceleration and would like to check the continuity of the potentiometers in the throttle pedal. There are six pins there and would like to know what pins connect to the potentiometer leads to check
for continuity!

Thank you guys and hope to hear from you next year!

Gents, no worries looking around for the schematic..! I have found it and it is not like I thought it would be..! On older cars the TPS was an strip of conductive material with brushes that move over the surface to change the resistance (Ohms) . They typically suffered of wear and l lose linearity..! After a little investigation I have learned that our R230 throttle sensor is a hall effect sensor which never will wear out....so, I need to find the culprit elsewhere! After I take a turn the throttle response is very weak till the car switches gears, then it goes..! I wonder if any of you have this issue!

I'm pretty sure that the accelerator pedal uses potentiometers. A hall effect would require some type of initiation to establish a home or zero point. One channel works basically 0-5V and the other is 0-2.5V. That said, I don't think the pedal is the source of your problem. Is it possible that the transmission is just not downshifting properly?

Used accelerator pedal assemblies are cheap on ebay. 2 of my 500SLs ( 2003&4) would not go to high RPMs when I pressed the pedal hard. I solved what I thought were transmission problems with replacement pedals. You can also erase transmission fault codes. You can disconnect negative battery cables overnight to restart transmission learning mode. Then drive normally for a while - I think for a few dozen shifting cycles to teach shift patterns.

Mike that is what I was thinking...see the picture below extracted from document P30.20-2046-09!
Interestingly enough, it happens when exiting a turn, depressing the throttle slightly produces no response till I push further and the transmission down shift! That does not happen in straight roads! I wonder if it has something to do with the lateral accelerometer of the ABC system! I got a heck of a scanner that tells me zero on this! Other than that the car functions normal!
