Vario Roof Alignment Lock Plastic Pin / Peg Replacement Availability?
I noticed that one of my roof lock alignment pegs is broken. (see photos) I have read where this is common. I can probably fix it but I am wondering:
1. If they are still available as just the plastic peg that slides over the more robust metal peg? I cant find it on MB Parts official lists.
2. How do you remove the old one? I can spin it freely but it does not unscrew. I have tried to pull it forward but there must be a tight friction ridge that keeps it from coming off.
3. If they are not available, is it best to remove it before repair?

This is mine that is broken.
I found this image that shows the entire mechanism. The black plastic peg cover is at 9 o'clock.
I found the answer to my 1st question by asking my parts friend at a MB dealership:"Unfortunately the only way to get those is to get the whole lock assembly. Part # is 230-790-09-71, your cost is $386.25 and list is $515.00. I am including a diagram. Part is #120."
