SL/R230: Replacement windscreen
Replacement windscreen
Hi all,
I have a chipped windscreen and require a replacement.
Have been told by National Windscreens that I need to put the roof down.
I have not used the roof in over a decade ! Use the car as a coupe rather than a drip top.
So my question is.....Is this true ?
My roof does not fold back and I really do not need it to.
Do I really need to fix my roof problems (Boot connector not working) before I can get a replacement windscreen ?
Also, should I need a roof fix, does anyone know a reputable garage to carry out this task ?
I am in Essex UK.
Thanks for any and all replies in advance.
Rob.

I'm not sure why you would need to lower the roof, but it can be done manually, so it wouldn't need to be repaired.
Hi, I have been told the roof needs to be lowered to replace the windscreen (by Autoglass and National Windscreens).
Apparently when the roof is lowered they can access a couple of screws.
How can it be done manually ?
Thanks for the reply.

Put the trunk in service mode, manually unlock the front latch, move the roof back enough for the job.
