shut down and will not start

1st post. 07 sl550 shut off in traffic and wouldn't start back. no cranking nothing. checked batteries but can't get any dash lights and font windows dropped 2 inches and will not seal. pulled started and had it checked (ok) batteries new. I have something going on with trunk battery not lasting. any help is welcomed. some thoughts are ignition switch or neutral safety switch. thank you

Need battery voltages.

when you say “batteries checked” and “batteries new” ???

Did you recently replace the batteries? If so, why?

But you need to get a voltmeter on them now, we need to know current charge.

Does key turn?

Do doors unlock and lock?

new battery under hood (4 months) trunk battery was 12-14 months. key turns and not sure on locks. car has been down for 7 months +. aware 1 or both batteries will need replacement. using jump boxes/chargers right now for testing

Does the car eventually turn on? I had a similar issue where my batteries were fine. Turns out it was the crank position sensor. I haven't had an issue since replacing it.

...be very careful using jump boxes, if at all, only on front starter battery... you probably have an issue either with the charging circuit (alternator/voltage regulator), alternator charges rear battery, BCM charges front battery via DC/DC converter, or may have a large drain issue, need to check amp draw when locked...

Missed the part about the trunk battery not lasting. Disregard my comment
