SL/R230: frustrated again

frustrated again
I have key fob issues for my 2003 sl 500. I have replaced the car batteries, and both of the fob batteries. My car has a 6 cd player behind the drivers seat. I watched the you tube videos regarding changing the number 58 fuse. There is no fuse box in the location they talk about. I have an estimate for 1400 to diagnose and fix the problem. The fobs work in the ignition, and the emergency keys both work to unlock doors/trunk. I made the mistake of buying an out of state car, been nickel and diming me to death.

The rear fuse box is behind the passenger (in US) seat. Open the storage box and lift the bottom panel out to access the fuses. F58 is there.

Because it’s a nightmare to diagnose and fix, especially this particular car and electrically speaking all Mercedes from this era. They are extremely time consuming and expensive when it comes to unknown electrical issues.

yes I tried pushing fobs quickly and the same result. My diagnostic computer connects to all electronics. If I could sell this car without getting ripped off I would. A local dealership offered me 6k for it. I told them I have put that much in it. They have another 2003 but its not a roadster and they want 18k for it. Mine has all the bells and whistles and less than 62k miles on it. Im just frustrated with this car.
