SL/R230: Seicane Android Headunit replacement (Need help finding CAN BUS for power on)
2007 SL600 with COMAND NTG1 APS and factory Bose speakers with factory Bluetooth puck and CD changer
Replacing with Seicane Android 14.0 headunit and am unsure where to find/tap CAN High and CAN low wiring.
Seicane Android Headunit
MOST Fiber adapter
Found the MOST fiber and power connections, have that all squared away, but unit won’t power on as it seems a CAN-H and CAN-L connection is required for that.
Their customer support is helpful…sort of…but is also 13 hours ahead and responses take a while.
Have looked all over for days trying to answer, worth noting 2005-20011 have similar interface and it is shared with other Mercedes models…but CAN BUS location for wire taps near HVAC controls or foot well is eluding me.
Pin location connecting to Headunit
Details about stock plug
Front of COMAND stock unit
Seicane install - can’t find CAN-H or CAN-L behind HVAC control
Seicane install - hitting a wall with CAN-H and CAN-L next step

Fiber converter
Provided clip for Android unit… it direct plug and play so using wire taps
Canbus decoder provided
Tapped Cigarette Lighter for accessory power…everything turns on but still no luck with what/where to tap CAN-H and CAN-L
Believe CAN tap is needed for comms like reverse sensing to activate camera, steering wheel controls, and I’m sure various other things.
Anyone know where CAN location is around HVAC controls hopefully? I have seen it could also be above driver footwell or left drivers side door but don’t want to rip car apart if there is easy location I can tap around center console for CAN.
thanks!
This video was very helpful, tapped brown/red as CAN High and brown as CAN Low

In searching for such units, I've seen units that look just like your Seicane offered on eBay and Walmart, for as little as $95.Do you know if these are all the same device?
When you ordered form Seicane, did you order any of the "required" items? Any of the optional ones?
Any help and advice would be appreciated.
First one is as seen here, where the headunit fits inside the console, with trim all the way around it. This normally is on the D2B systems.
The other is where the head unit fills the entire space above the cup holders and the console trim does not surround the head unit.
The cut off is about 2005 and when MOST was used.
There are two or three different head units for each variant of the original headunit.
I just fitted one to my 2025 BOSE car, and quite impressed for the price I paid. Mine Keeps the cup holders as a bonus.
