Replace Brake Caliper 2009 SL550
Hello I have an 09 SL550 with sport package. My front caliper started leaking from the piston seals. This is my daily beater so I just purchased a low mileage OEM takeoff to replace it. I’m mechanically inclined so hoping for a simple swap.
I did the pads several years ago with the lock/unlock procedure to deactivate SBC and turn the wheels to reset.
I just need to unbolt the caliper and hook the line up to the new one. Can I just deactivate the SBC that way again, and bench fill the new caliper and hook it up? Or do I need a fancy scanner and to bleed the system after install? Trying to avoid the shop but it’s an option. I just need to keep the car on the road cheap and easy
