Wake-up Signal to Amp 2008 SL550 R230
I believe this is somewhat a common issue. The situation is: 1) Wake-up Signal not sent to the Amp 2) Command unit works fine - All functions well except sound. 3) Once the car is warmed-up, and I leave the car (lock and alarm) return and right then or shortly after, the Stereo and internal Phone system works perfectly. In fact, it did not become a reoccurring issue until the weather had turn chilly down here in FLA. I just read an article which stated that I could have a wake-up signal sent by switching off/on to pos. 2 ignition and and turn the Command Unit off/on and a signal would be sent. Otherwise, in the mornings when the car is cool/cold and let's say, damp from normal weather, soon after driving and perhaps stepping into the grocery for a moment, when I return, it either comes on during normal startup, or shortly thereafter it pops on. Once on, it seems to continually work until the car cools off or the next day. Occasionally, it will just start up fine from the get-go. All of the units are original MB parts - no aftermarket. I imagine that there is a moister issue with the optical ring, but... ??? Thank You in advance. This is starting to bug me enough to take it to the shop, but I may be faced with that since I am limited to hands-on work that I can do myself.
