SL/R230: How noisy is the R230? (eg wind noise compared to R129 glass roof)??

How noisy is the R230? (eg wind noise compared to R129 glass roof)??
I own a 1997 SL500 with a glass roof. I do lots of highway miles so my biggest complaint about the car is wind noise, even when the glass roof is on. I'm tempted to consider the Lexus SC430 for my next car, as (amongst other things) it's referred to as the quietest car on the road. But how much noise is there in the new SL? Can anyone compare it to the previous model (with hardtop)?
Also, the Mark Levinson system in the Lexus is superb. Does the SL Bose system come close?
I love the look of the SL so this is the car I WANT to buy, but I won't put up with wind noise and a ****e stereo. Thanks for any help.

I don't know about the noise but I would imagine that with audio, everyone has a different taste (as everyone's ears are different, they don't all pick up the same things, etc.)
As such, wouldn't you be better off customizing a sound system for the SL? Cmon, you know you want to take the leap.

SC430 apparently has quite a fair bit of squeaks and rattles, test drive it first. The LS430 is supposed to be quiet, not the SC430.
