Emergency Stop
Had my first serious incident in my SL today.
I was driving over a hill when suddenly on the other side there was standing traffic (all waiting to get through a flooded road)
I was doing around 60mph in damp conditions, hit the brakes and wow! they are seriously good. Stopped me shunting the car in from and in good time, without much locking. The only problem was the seat belt digging into my wifes shoulder.
It did feel when I hit the brakes hard, that the car kind of took over. Just had to sit and hope the car would stop.
Really impressed with the performance.

SL500 and A-CLASS
What I find amazing is the fact that Car and Driver does not ding Honda for taking 210 ft to stop from 70 MHP to 0, while the SL500 takes about 140 to 150 ft stop. On average from the stats in 2004 the Mercedes cars stop 50 ft shorter than the Hondas from 70 mphs breaking test.
Glad you two are OK.
