SL/R230: Height of front windows

If I measure the amount the front window sticks up over the outside door rubber trim in the down position, I find that on the driver's side, the window only sticks up 1/8 of an inch.
If I measure the passenger window in the down position I find that the window sticks up 5/16 of an inch over the outside rubber trim.
These measurements are being taken toward the middle of the window in the down position where it is at its highest point.
I would very much appreciate it if the 2005 SL600 owners would check the following:
1. In the down position, are both your front windows even or does one stick up more than the other over the outside rubber trim.
2. If they are not even, which window sticks up more.
3. And...if they are not even and you don't mind, please measure what the heights are.
Thanks for all your help. I can't imagine they are not suppose to be equal. I know there should be an adjustment for how far the window goes down but I am not sure if they are suppose to be equal and if they are, which one is wrong.
If the windows are wrong, Mercedes will have to find the adjustment screw on the regulator.
Any answers from 2005 SL500, SL55 or SL65 owners would also be very much appreciated.
Again, thanks for your help.

I'd chime in but my car is at the dealer. I've got soe kind of creaking noise coming from the suspension. Seems to be realted to the ABC system. The dealer originally sad that they coundn't find anything and suggested that maybe it was me riding the brakes; however, when I made the appointment, a servce writer drove it and heard/felt the noise. They're taking a closer look.
Peaking of windows, another problem was then when I'd raise the window, it woud close and then reopen. I have the same problem on my CL windows and sunroof. It's got an appt next week.

This was on my 2003 and if my memory serves me correctly there is a way for the Dealer to reset the window motors.
It is possible that I am confusing this with an XK8 that my ex-wife had which I am sure you could reset the windows. I am trying to forget as much as I can about that time period in my life.
Maybe someone could join in on this resetting the window concept?
Hey guys, I need some more answers to my window height problem to see if this problem has occured before and how high the windows should be.
Chris, thanks for your feedback.
Thanks.

Sounds to me like there's an alignment problem. The issue is that the frameless windows are difficult to align and (probably) require the door panel to be removed and, as we've discussed elsewhere, the less often you have to do stuff like that, the better.

We will see. Thanks.

Unfortunately, it is just a case of sloppy assembly of the window and regulator by Mercedes. Hey, what do you want for $150,000 plus?
It is very easy to fix but does require taking off the door panel.
It has to do with where in a slot they tightened a nut when they clamped the glass to the regulator.
It is kind of lenghtly to describe yet easy to fix so if your car has this problem and you want to fix it, if your dealer does not know how, send me an e-mail and I will explain how to fix it.

If you can live with the different heights, I'd say do it as you need a good mechanic or you'll be in trouble.
We finally got them all right today. Ending up having to adjust more than just one window but all is well in window land.
My pump is coming tomorrow.
My car could be in my garage by Saturday or Monday.
It's about time. I miss my baby.
The theory we came up with is that when parked open the system appears to forget where "closed" is, and so thinks it has hit an obstruction while closing, so automatically reverses to avoid injuring the person or animal whose body part is causing the obstruction. It's just a theory, though.
