California emissions control on sl500?

Is there a difference in sl500 's bought in California as far as emission control equipment is concerned and are these cars slower?

I doubt it because you are able to buy a SL500 anywhere in the country and bring it to California.

The only car in the MB lineup that does not meet Calif standards is the E320 CDI. That will change in 2006 when low sulfer diesel is introduced.

As far as I know every OBD II Benz meets CA emissions. The only ones that don't meet emissions are diesels.
When I moved to CA my 94 S420, 98 E320, and 88 300CE (CA version) all passed with flying colors.
