2013 SL Options

It looks like one can finally see the options available on the '13 SL on the MBUSA site.

So far, it all looks really good! I didn't see any mention of the heated steering wheel, like I have in my 2004 SL. I hope it's still there. Maybe it's a standard feature now? Thanks for the post. I've already built my new SL!

No heated steering wheel, at least in Europe

This is just so stupid - why are they promoting the Air Scarf "to extend your top down season" in conjunction with the heated seats....but then removing the heated steering wheel? A complete lack of thought and hopefully an oversight that will be resolved.

We called MB Corporate - they said they were taking customer issues and sending them back to Germany for future model modifications.

MB did the right thing: if it is cold to the point of needing a heated steering wheel, then you will certainly not be able to open your roof, and should be at the (heated) wheel of a 4x4

No, I've had a heated steering wheel for 8 years, it is useful when the top is down OR up. Where I live we don't get the feet of snow that other parts of the US receives, but we do get below freezing regularly each winter. The heated steering wheel is a huge convenience and given that the technology is there to put it in the car - and has been - it is short sighted to take it out.

Those who don't want it, such as yourself, just don't need to include it when you order your car.

I think MB should bundle the heated steering wheel with a denture receptacle with ultrasound cleaning functions

I was informed today that the Illuminated MB Door Sills are not an available option for this model, but it's selectable on the option list. Does anyone know anything about this or possibly have it installed?

Mine has illuminated door sills. Me thinks it's included with the "ambient lighting" pkg

I just dug out my window sticker. The illuminated door sills are option code U25. They costs $350.

Many of the reviewers knock this option. I think it looks great.
