Cool R231 Active PArk Assist

Hey Fellow MB Owners,
First of , you are all lucky to have that beautiful car . Enjoy your SL and happy driving
Secondly, I am a sedan guy but I must admit I like almost everything on the R231 SL
My only complain is round A/C controllers , I like rectangular buttons and LED screens same as you can see in W212
And finally, I stumbled upon this video on youtube when watching 2013 SL videos and thought it would be a good idea to share it with you
I do have Parking Assist guide in my MB but I have not used it yet , I park my car on my own but this system is very sophisticated to the point of parking on its own ,great stuff

Here's the video

Saw this video... thanks for posting.

I have no idea why, but it struck me funny that the driver still had to shift... I guess for some reason I thought something as sophistocated would be able to shift itself as well...

Oh well, I am a park myself kind of guy as well, so I guess it really is not an issue.

Thanks again for posting!

Jim

Nice Video. I have this option in my 2011 BMW 5 series. It is cool but i only used it once! I can't really be bothered waiting for the car to tell me what to do. I guess it would work for people ( mostly women :P) who have problems with parallel parking!

I have it but there is no parallel parking to speak of down here. I finally got to try it out at the Daytona Beach Airport a couple of weeks ago.

It worked! It impressed the cop standing there so much, he let me wait there.

BTW..... The announcer on the video said to put it in park instead of reverse.

From what I understand you have to press the brake pedal to stop, is that correct? So if you don't press the brakes, it will bump into the car behind it? (If so this seems like the biggest flaw along with the Lexus system- I don't understand why it won't stop if the car has parking sensors. Perhaps it's a legal issue of some sort?)

Either way, rather park myself, but neat to see.

I recently posted a topic at Off Topic , a woman can't park a smart car .Honestly, I don't like to fun other person's failure but laughs , talks in the behind made me giggle

Back to R231's cool feature when getting out of the parking spot I noticed the car turned on right turned signal as well
