I am in the process of buying a 2013 SL63 that looks like yours, except the exterior is white instead of silver. Obviously buying it used, so not much choice in color, but all looks really pretty good. I currently have an SL600 and I have the same radar unit as you have, looking at the control unit. With mine, I also have another unit, a digital readout, that shows the speed, and shows X,K or Ka band when it is triggered. I assume you have the same setup. Would you mind telling me where the digital readout is located in your car, assuming that you have one? Also, did you have the laser defusers installed as well, and if you did, would you mind telling me how the units look on the grill. I have them on my silver SL600 and they stand out because the units are black. Thanks

Here's a picture of the control module and the display meter installed in my 2013 SL63. The front laser shifters are mounted behind my front grill so there is nothing outwardly visible. I have K band turned off because the Distronic Plus uses a K band frequency and always sets off the radar detector.
