Lowering & Wheels

I am contemplating getting an SL550, but every car I looked at simply looks like it's sitting up way too high.
Has anyone lowered the SL's yet?
If so, I used lowering links on our SL600 and they worked great. Has anyone done the same? Can the same links be used on the SL550?

Moreover, even with the AMG 19" wheels, it looks like the wheels are sitting too much in the wheel wells. I am looking for a more aggressive stance.
I think you could easily add a 10-15mm hub centric spacer to pull at least the rear wheels out a bit.

The 19"/20" forget AMG wheels of the SL63 would also do the job.

Thanks for any input!

Hello,

Have you looked at your BRABUS lowering Springs post? We posted a pictures of a SL550 lowered on some BRABUS springs and 20" wheels.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you

Thanks for your PM.
I have been holding off until my new wheels arrived.
I am having Mercedes look at the ride-height first tomorrow when they mount the new wheels (AMG 19"/20" SL65 forged wheels).

The car simply looks an inch or so too tall, even to a stock C Class (I am getting that SUV feeling).

So I hoping that Mercedes can drop this to a normal height since the 3rd party springs will void the suspension warranty.
