Car cover

Looked online but unsure if anyone truly has an outdoor car cover for the SL550 2013 and that fits well..

Anyone have any personal experience with this and a link gratefully accepted?.

I got the one from the factory. It was thrown in as part of my deal when I bought it. Fits wonderfully - but is missing a feature my old 2010 BMW 3 series had. The cover itself was connected to the bag via two sewn straps. After the car was covered, the attached bag was put in the trunk and the trunk closed. That way the cover could never completely be blown away - as at was tethered to the cover which was locked in the trunk.

The MB one needs a strap to go underneath the car to tie it down in heavy winds - or prevent thievery.

Well, I have a nice one. When I get a car to put it on I'll let you know how it fits. :-) That problem should be solved by this time next week.

I will say this about them though. Be sure you really need the cover that you buy. I need an inside dust cover that has to be good enough for an emergency night outside. I don't need a NOAH "park my car outside for the winter in Vermont" four layer behemoth that fills the trunk. The dealer cover is actually quite nice, but it's meant to be used outside A LOT and has the heft to do so well. If you don't need that, don't buy it.

I have the Mercedes car cover. It's made from NOAH material. However I don't think it's recommended for inside use.

I had a NOAH cover for my BMW X5. I used it week on, week off for years. No problems.

I have two virtually 99.9% brand new car covers from my previous SL550 and CLS and possibly been used twice between the two cars if anyone wants one at a good price....tried the old SL550 cover and because the new shape is bigger, it just doesn't fit quite right.............

thx.......

Yes, the parts department at a dealership will be happy to do it.

Service dept got one for me and I notice on reading the instructions that it states the wing mirrors have to be electronically placed inwards before its put on? This doesn't make sense as the cover has the material shaped to go over the mirrors.

Sounds like either way you're set.

Wing Mirrors in or out makes no difference

The only difference it makes is the ease of putting it on...not really a big deal. I always have them out when I put it on and then once I lock the car the mirrors swing in.
