SL/R231: Something bothering me.
I looked at a 911S and it had a better exhaust note and steering, but it felt cramped and didn't have many of the luxuries that SL has.
The GTR is a beast that would be fun for a few weeks and great as a track car, but its roughness would wear on me as a daily driver. Great track car, not a grand tourer.
I've owned a couple of soft tops so I eliminated the Jag when I was buying because of those compromises. When it is hot here in Texas, it seems like the top is claustrophobic and there is always that care issue that goes with a soft top.
You're a car guy. It is like looking at pretty girl when your married. You still look, but in the end will it really give you the pleasure that you think it will. There is always another pretty car and a pretty girl, but they all have their compromises.
My only problem is the attention- not exaggerating but it's getting a little weird. People stopping in traffic taking pics. This guy waved out of his window from a Mercedes in front of me and then pulling next to me and said hi and was frantically waving with his arm out of the window (I was pretty freaked out). A Porsche 911 4S driver today strained his neck in the rearview mirror when I was behind him and then pulled to the right and slowed down so I was next to him and starred at the car, me and then the car- then slowed down checked the back out and then casually went on his way. I mean this all happened yesterday and today for pete's sake!! I'm convinced people think I am an NFL player or something....
I need at least 10 Supercars so I can choose a different drive each day,
I am not interested in owning them, nobody knows who you are, or if
you own them. I should have gone into the car trade...
