SL/R231: Square tips

Square tips
How many 231 SL owners really like rectangle exhaust tips that are part
of the body, or are there many of you who would prefer oval or round tips.
I have decided to change mine, I have bought 2 new tips left and right,
and I am going to get round pipes grafted on. I have done a little mod on
the back which makes it look IMO much better. I will put up pictures in the
near future , if I lived in the States that would be a few days, but this is England where everything takes ages , that's if you can find someone to do
it.

I actually like the new exhaust designs. Just like you I am no fan of the fake tips but that seems to be the norm across manufacturers. Have the same on the BMW... Brabus actually has some tips that appear to be milled steel rather than bent metal. Not sure if those are separate tips or part is a complete exhaust

great idea would you please upload the pic after you fix them because I’mplanning to do so but i can’t find the right way someone told me that i have tochange the rear part to be fit which was not reasonable to me and its costly aswell in the same time i love the sound of 65 or 63 the they blow it up its makeme crazy
anyone have idea how to change it to square maintaining thesame sound system

I'm not a big fan of the round tips, but I do wish there was a good AMG styled option (like the red car above) that replaced the existing body mounted tips. You'd think it would be a relatively inexpensive piece to produce
