SL/R231: MBrace Application Issue

MBrace Application Issue
Is anyone having an issue with the applications on the command MBRACE screen on their R231? Mine has been in the shop for three weeks and they still have no idea how to fix it. The icons do not show up and I cannot save any settings. They are working with Germany and MBrace but no one seems to understand how it works. At this point they have had the car longer in than I have. I know that it is a minor item but for $125k it should work!

Personally, I had the free subscription for the apps which I found utterly worthless and unusable due to the cars slow internet connection. They did work, but so slow that it just wasn't an option. More so at $15 or so a month.
I do have the basic Mbrace that gives me all the features I want and use my iPhone for the rest.
Keep in mind that CarPlay is coming for the SL so that you use your phone app on your screen.
Those apps are cheap and work great, along with 4G speeds.

I agree wholeheartedly with Wolfman. Yes my applications worked. But they were virtually unusable - total pieces of garbage. I read somewhere that the reason it's also slow is that everything requiring Internet has to run back to Germany and then come back to United States. irrespective of the mechanics of the issue, they're completely unusable. How Mercedes-Benz could have gotten this so wrong and done nothing about it is beyond me.

Hopefully Mercedes will offer a upgrade to existing models when they integrate the mobile phone. I hear that they will offer the integration on the next 2015 models. If a upgrade is offered I hope the integration is more inclusive and easier than previous attempts. The currently offered integration only works with the iPhone 4s (last years model)

That's the one to get. It'll show IPhone apps on the screen and you can control them via comand controls. Siri is there as is the ability to use the iPhone maps/navigation which is much better than any car nav.
Btw. The current $700 integration (forgot the name) is now also iPhone 5 compatible. But of course also outdated with CarPlay

Ok they finally got it fixed. Can't wait for car play. I hope that MB offers a upgrade to older models. By the way the dealer was great! Leith in Raleigh. MB corporate and EMbrace did not appear very knowledgeable
