SL/R231: Difference between 2013 SL550 & SL500

Difference between 2013 SL550 & SL500
Dear All,
My name is Abdulrhman and I am from Kuwait. I am considring to buy an 2013/2014 SL550 from the USA because it is way cheaper than here in Kuwait. Mercedes benz dealer in my country have the SL500 ( same as Europe ). So my question is there any different from 2013 SL550 (USA version) and SL500 (Europe version)? I notice the front headlamp have orange turnsignal while in Europe not. We are here not talking about options because options can be choosen by the first owner.

Hello Abdulrhman, I am 99% sure there is no difference either in the engine. Europeans are used to the "500" number rather than the "550". Americans love big displacement engines, hence the denomination 550 for the same engine.
The difference besides the headlamps, is in the Odometer, which is in miles rather than kms.

I drive a US spec SL550 in Germany.
The headlights are different, you won't get the fog light settings for the headlights and no rear fog light.
The radio frequencies differ, but that can be changed by MB.
The temperature settings will be in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius.
Other than this all seems the same.
