SL/R231: 2014 SL 550 seat cooling ?

2014 SL 550 seat cooling ?
I was under the impression that the car had a seat heating and cooling. I've had seat heaters, and air scarf on previous SLKs. Never have had a seat "cooler". Reading tells me that the "cooling" is really just a circulation fan in the seat....circulating cabin air. I certainly do not feel any cooling, and in fact I don't feel any circulation.
Should it feel cooler, should I feel circulation. No warning lights on the dash. How do I know it's working.
ps......I just got the car a week ago and am still plying through the owners manual.....jeez there's a lot of bells and whistles on these cars.

No direct conduit to the ac, just intake vents behind front seats
It's a known crappy feature among the entire lineup at benz
