Order accepted!

After months and months, I finally learned today that my order for a 2017 SL450 was accepted. Heretofore, my selection of the design Selenite Grey Magno had been a stumbling block.

For those curious, a few comments:

1. This is my first NON-AMG M-B vehicle ever. I found the combination of (a) my age -turning 70, (b) living in a city - Las Vegas and (c) never taking road trips or doing "track days" made the performance available from a AMG-designed car untapped and the cost, consequently, ridiculous. I am hopeful that the SL450 will be fun to drive in its own way -- and save me tens of thousands of dollars, too.

2. I think the color combination I got -- the matt grey finish, a saddle brown interior and blackened wheels -- will look "cool". There is something in particular about matt finishes that I really like on a visceral level.

3. I ordered most every option.

My car is currently scheduled to be built during the last trimester in October and shipped during the following ten days. According to my dealer, it should arrive in late November/early December.

I felt the same way about my C7 except I did drive it quite a bit. I just didn't need 460HP. I'm 72 and I am really enjoying my SL400, Selenite with Red.
