2016 SL400
Door Kick Plate

Does anyone know what to use to get the fine scratches out on the kick plates for a 2016 SL400 or what the cost is to replace. Thanks!

This is going to be an ongoing problem--wish they had kept the brushed aluminum from the previous model instead of going to the highly polished ones.

Agreed 100%. Doesn't even look better (less sporty). The OP has a '16 though, those are brushed.

I would try steel wool. If that doesn't they are something like $150 a pop...

I'm not a fan of carbon fiber, but in this particular case, I do believe you may have nailed it my friend. Good job!

I am not a fan of carbon fiber either, but in my case, the car is black inside-out, so it makes the most sense to do it this way.

The carbon does not scuff?

Is this actual carbon fiber, or a vinyl wrap that looks like CF?

It's a waterproof vinyl wrap, but it looks and feels the same as carbon fiber.

So, one could really use any color vinyl wrap-such as a silver-and when it gets scratched, simply replace it. Great idea.

That's the idea. This material doesn't get scratches as easy as the stock door kick (I believe that is aluminum)

Custom pre-cut or roll of material?

Not precut. I watched technician cut from a roll of material at my local wrap shop.
