I have searched the forum and internet in general to discover what changes Mercedes made to the M278 engine to give it 20 more HP after 2013. Anybody have a definitive answer or info source?
In addition as I have read repeatedly the HP was under rated in 2013 at 429, is there a definitive answer to what the true crank HP really is? Dyno tests use varied estimates of powertrain loss so nothing is certain that I find.

The R231 SL was never slow but the 2017 model is definitely faster than before. Much of that will have to do with the 9-speed as well...
