Mercedes SL63 R231 2012
Hi,
I just recently purchased a SL63 R231 built April 2012.
The problem I'm having with this car 1 week after buying it.
Its got dealer warranty so I would like to get it fixed. Any help is appreciated
1.The car slams into drive or reverse SOMETIMES.
2.Lose throttle between gear changes SOMETIMES
3.can not shift gears until you restart car SOMETIMES
My problem is it happens SOMETIMES so I can't exactly show the dealer the problem.
Has anyone had this problem or know what it is?

The dealership should be able to plug the car into their computer and pull up any error codes.
There may also be records of any past work done on the car if it was maintained by Mercedes.

You might wish to bounce this about in the AMG forum: look at the top tool bar and select SL AMG: SL55 AMG, SL63 AMG, SL65 AMG (R230) Discuss the SL55, SL63 and SL65 AMG.
There may be more pertinent info on that site. Not trying to get rid of you by any means, but the AMG is a special animal.

There was a software update for the MCT transmission. Affected the S-Class but believe also the SL. Might want to check on that.
Also, the MCT shift hard in low gears (city driving). Depending of what type of car you are coming from, you might not be used to it and not like it. So some of it could be normal behavior.
Good luck and enjoy!
