About a month later my new SL400
AMG line, Bengal red inside, Active seats, active suspension, ambient lighting, analogue clock, 75L fuel tank, cup holders, driver assist package, reversing camera, electric wind blocker, air scarf.
I'm very happy with the performance and all the extras I ordered. Can't come close to really using full power on the UK roads but will be doing a trip to France and Germany mid June and will give it a run on the Autobahn.

I've been a white car guy for quite a while, but decided to go with the Selenite Grey this time. I like it a lot and get some positive comments on it, but every time I see a white one I wish I would have got it. Your car looks great! I'm assuming your car is a EU version of the US SL450 and I'm surprised to see the AMG wheels you have. I don't think we can get those any longer. My car is a '16 SL400 with the same wheels, it is a pleasure to drive. Enjoy!

Hi Thanks. I've always preferred white , nearly got the selenite but am happy I went back to white. However it is a very unrewarding colour to wax & polish.
The UK 400 is the US 450 but here they do the "AMG Line". Hence the AMG wheels, bigger rear brakes, sports exhaust and other bits and pieces.
Hope you are as happy with your asi am with mine. Sending this from Scotland where, I have just completed my 1000miles run in period and am looking for a road where I can put my food down hard.

I am a retired commercial grower with 40+ years experience. If you need 2,000 acres of rice or 200 acres of olives, capers or grapes grown in that back yard give me a phone call!

I too just took delivery of my new SL450, and like you, am, or perhaps I should say, was, a white car guy. My last 3 cars were all white. Two E Cabs and one CLK Cab. However, I didn't really like the look of the SL in white, so like Gene, I ordered mine in Selenite Grey, with a red interior. However, your car does indeed look beautiful and I wish you all the best with it.

Thanks all. The building is the Bowes Museum near where i live.
Grey, red, white, silver... still an SL. I've just done a 700 mile trip over 3 days to the Scottish Highlands and back and it was a fabulous car to drive on the twisty mountain roads.
One item I am really happy with is the active suspension - not only for the driving but the ability to raise the whole body about 2" when parking up against a curb and going over speed humps etc.

I used the U.K. MB configuraror to price my 2017 SL 450. The exactly same car cost over $11,000 more (unless VAT is included).

Picture is in the Scottish Highlands during our 700 mile run. Very happy with the active suspension. Curve tilt is interesting on twisty roads, I'm not yet sure if i love it on tight bends but it is nice on long sweepers., The feature I like most so far, is the ability to raise the body 2" when parking at kerbs and going over speed humps etc.

I had my first night drive last night and even coming from a SLK 350 with ILS, the lights on this car are stunning. The headlights automatically adjust to speed, location and traffic. I was really impressed with how good the lights are. I live in the countryside and even had a rabbit in the headlights
Also I'm not sure if I'm correct but because they are LED, there does not seem to be that many dead bugs on the front and there was not the usual stream of beasties flying toward the headlights, considering that it was a warm day/evening here.
Not too sure if the tales about LED and insects is correct - I recall camping in a very remote part of Australia (Palm valley in the middle of the outback) and being besieged by the most insects I've ever seen (an some of the biggest) and all our lighting was LED - but it may have been the colour temperature of the lights.
