Timing Chain

Anyone ever had trouble with the timing chain?

I'm about 95% sure that i will buy a SL550 in the next 30 days. Examining this forum and online reviews have supported the notion that these cars are reliable as well as a ball to drive. However, one source stated that the timing chain can be a weak point on the car.

I would really enjoy hearing from anyone that can support or refute this claim. If you did had a problem with it, how much did it cost to have it fixed?

Thanks

Never heard of a timing chain issue on these engines. Your source might have the wrong info...
