power steering problem
Wonder if anyone else has seen this?
2014 SL550. 26000 miles
A few times over the last month at full lock when traveling really slow, parking and maneuvering my power steering seems to loose a bit of power when close to full lock, last night I tried to simulate this when standing still by turning from lock to lock. I could make the steering loose power at full lock by turning from lock to lock a few times and it seemed worse the faster I went.
Not checked anything yet but pretty sure the car has electric power steering?
Any thoughts?

I seem to recall that there is some sort of system to prevent damage at full lock....not sure what you mean by "losing power" is it when you turn the wheel in the opposite direction after turning to full lock?

What I mean by loosing power is that sometimes at say 3/4 lock you need more force on the steering wheel to finish going to full lock, If I liken it to a hydraulic system with an accumulator it would be like the accumulator is emptying to soon, this is not an every time thing but just occasionally, I can replicate it by turning from lock to lock a few times. Also the manual says if the power steering has a fault you will get a notice on the dash, I do not get a notice.
I wonder it I took it in the dealer they could find a code?
