What is this symbol on my dash display?
I looked and looked through my owner’s manual, but I can’t find out what this symbol means. It’s the one in the middle, just to the right of the coffee cup. Anybody?

I love trying to interpret "International" symbols. No help here but I am heading out to the barn later on and will give my manual a look see. Here is what a SL dash should look like. Elegant and beautiful......

Only in my dreams in a far off land. I would die just to see that SL300 in person!
My guess on the symbol is that you have a self braking option turned off and you could rear end a vehicle if not careful. Maybe it is part of the " you are getting tired" and need to take a break and get a cup of coffee before you fall asleep at the wheel and rear end another vehicle or drive out of your lane!

I've no real idea, but my guess would be that it's some sort of anti-collision signage, which is probably accompanied by an aural tone of some sort. The manual would say something like "it's still the drivers responsibility to brake to avoid collisions." That's just my guess. The coffee cup is telling you, you've driven for a given amount of time, usually somewhere around 2 hours, without stopping, and that the car thinks it's time for you to take a break.

Or the coffee cup could be informing you that the mini Starbucks kiosk in your trunk has your order ready.

It is the 'parking warning' alerting to a developing rear end impact with another auto or object. Even a person walking behind you will trigger this alert. I[ppd connection, or failed sensor.t SHOULD turn off when the 'interference' is gone. That it did not indicates the triggering sensor is not working properly---dirt on the sensor surface,

yep it is collision prevention and can be turned off when you scroll through the central dash message center, once chosen to turn off remember to save to memory to your settings....you can hit "m" then the number 1,2, or 3 for the memory number..
