OT but Is there a MB Mclaren forum here..can't see one
I am seriously considering purchasing one. In fact Mecam have an auction coming up soon and just might go and check it out. Expensive yes, but its just about the only shape car at present that has the most beautiful lines out there(imo) and I'm not getting any younger, plus it could turn out to be an investment if I get a low miles one. So any reputable links that anyone can supply me, appreciated.

Hard to have a forum, with so few cars out there. It would be interesting to know how many were actually made.

Found a listing in Hemmings which states that a total of 45 units were produced in 2004. Also found this listing in DuPont Registry with a few for sale: http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/...z/slr--mclaren . SImply one of the most georgous cars of all time, convertible or coupe. Happy Hunting!
And according to the internet of things: Total sales were 615 units in 2005, 261 units in 2006, and 275 units in 2007, falling well below Mercedes-McLaren's goal of selling 500 units annually.[22]
When the SLR was first announced, Mercedes said total production would be limited to 3500 units. 1400 units had been sold by the end of 2007. The factory confirmed that production would halt at the end of 2009.[23]
A total of 2,157 SLR McLaren's were produced
