SL Rear Deck Spoiler
I just signed on a new 17 SL450 and would like to install the rear deck spoiler from the SL 63/65. MB is obviously an option but I was wondering if anyone has had any good experiences with the aftermarket purveyors of genuine MB parts who sell at discount?
Thanks

You may purchase an aftermarket one and wrap it with whatever color at your choice. The only drawback of the aftermarket one I got was that it wasn't completely flat on the surface. But hey, it does the job at a fraction of the cost of dealer's.

Would you mind sharing the best option for aftermarket units? I just purchased a 2018 SL 450 and would like one as well. Looked online and they are in the $750-up range thru a dealer. There are Ebay units that list they fit SL 63 but say they won't fit the SL 450 which there should be no reason not to fit, its the same shaped trunk lid.
Thanks for any info

2007 SL550 Premium
SL 63 / 65 OEM rear spoiler.
After purchasing 2 aftermarket rear spoilers for my 2015 SL 550 Diamond White / Bengal Red / Piano Lacquer Black ( its my wife's car ) both of which did not fit properly and looked out of place. I just went ahead and purchased the OEM from the dealer. Don't ask - yes it was expensive but the fit and finish was perfect with no gaps and looked a 1000 times better than either of the aftermarket ones. One of the aftermarket ones was 580.00 which I returned and the other was 670.00 which I also returned. Both were from different manufacturers and both for lack of a better term were junk.

I agree. When I started this thread back in march I ended up looking at more aftermarket spoilers than I can remember. Different designs represented the changes MB has made to the spoilers over the years and the fabrication material the aftermarket uses is usually a question mark. In the end I bit the bullet and went with a 2017 OEM spoiler that came on the SL63/65 to make sure it fit my 17 SL. A bit spendy but appears as a factory install and provides peace of mind.
