Question about AMG badging on 2014 SL550
Sometimes I see AMG badging on the SL550 models, but have no idea what makes the ones with AMG badges different than the SL550's without the AMG badging. The engine, exterior, interior, options, etc all appear to be the same. Does anyone know what makes them different?
An example is: 2014 SL550 AMG Special Edition.

AMG GTC Roadster, E63s Ed.1, M8 Comp. Coupe
There is no such as a SL550 AMG.
In the US, all R231 SL’s have the AMG body kit as a default and the AMG wheels were an option but no car is ever badged or called AMG.
Some people like to put on AMG badges. Some consider that being a poser...

I was looking on Ebay and saw some of those AMG badges that match the ones I saw on an SL550, so I'm guessing that the owner just buys those and sticks them on their car. I suspected something like this, but was confused since the SL550 did not have the AMG engine. Thanks for your reply. Makes sense.
